Christmas is just around the corner, and nothing is more special than “Christmas in the Park” at Spencer Park! The Logansport Parks & Recreation Department and Foundation, and many sponsoring organizations and businesses will again be putting on this wonderful program for the community and surrounding counties.  This holiday light extravaganza will begin on Friday November 23rd following the Light Up Logansport Parade, and end on Christmas Day.

In order to prepare the park for the month-long program, Spencer Park will be closed to vehicle traffic beginning Monday, November 5th.  Walkers should plan to park their vehicles on the north side of High Street so they will be able to continue using the circular drive. But many vehicles will be working inside the park, and this will cut down on confusion.

We are also looking for volunteers that would like to help either with setting up the displays, directing traffic during the program nights, troubleshooting the light displays, or helping to greet our many visitors throughout the nights that we’re open.  In addition, Non-profit groups are able to earn extra dollars for their organization by hosting one night of the park display.  For more information, contact either Lauren (Gaumer) McClure or Janet Fawley at 574-753-6969.
